DevOps Engineer
Max Rößler. Dresden, Germany (Remote)

DevOps Engineer

The experiences from over 10 years in various companies led to the step into self-employment in 2022. As an independent DevOps engineer, I now leverage my entire technical range to support companies in modernizing critical IT infrastructures. My focus lies on Ansible-based automation, container orchestration with OpenShift and Kubernetes, and implementing security best practices in hybrid cloud environments. Since 2022, I’ve been supporting companies from the insurance, energy, and IT system house industries in strategic transformation projects. At Baloise, I developed automated migrations on Windows servers using Ansible, Docker containers for OpenShift, and Helm charts for ArgoCD over two years (December 2022 to December 2024). Technical project planning and coordination of multiple external service providers were part of my responsibilities, as well as advancing MariaDB databases for cloud-native deployments. At Uniper (June 2025 to November 2025), I planned and provisioned Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and implemented CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps. Containerizing applications in C# and Python, along with their automatic deployment via Azure IoT Hub to edge devices, formed the technical focus of this project. Network planning, debugging, and analyzing undocumented code were part of the daily routine. The technical range extends from multi-cluster OpenShift setups to GitOps pipelines and comprehensive monitoring landscapes with Prometheus and Grafana. At keepbit (June 2025 to ongoing), I administer Jira and Confluence Data Center instances, customize workflows and automations, and advise on optimizing project management and knowledge management processes. As an independent consultant, I consciously choose projects that align with my values: technical excellence, open communication, and peaceful civilian development. This orientation enables long-term partnerships with clients seeking not just technology, but sustainable solutions. My clients particularly appreciate the solution-oriented approach, the ability to quickly familiarize myself with new technologies, and direct, clear communication. The combination of 4+ years of Atlassian expertise and full-stack DevOps competence is rare and makes me the ideal partner for companies modernizing both developer tooling AND infrastructure. Core Competencies: DevOps engineering and CI/CD pipeline development (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) Infrastructure as Code (Ansible for Linux & Windows, Terraform, Helm charts) Container technologies (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, ArgoCD) Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud architectures) Linux & Windows Server administration and automation Atlassian system administration (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) Monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, TIG Stack)

Atlassian Consultant
demicon GmbH. Berlin, Germany (Remote in Dresden)

Atlassian Consultant

To deepen my Atlassian expertise at enterprise level, I switched to demicon GmbH in 2021, one of Germany’s leading Atlassian partners. Here I focused on complex cloud migrations at large scale and supported enterprise customers with several thousand users. What I had learned as a consultant at STAGIL, I implemented at demicon in technically demanding, mission-critical projects. A highlight of my time at demicon was the successful planning and execution of multiple server/data center to Atlassian cloud migrations for enterprise customers. Unlike STAGIL, this involved systems with several thousand users, complex plugin landscapes, and strict compliance requirements. I developed zero-downtime migration strategies, used CCMA tools (Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant) for complex data transfers, and coordinated migration windows with minimal impact on business processes. Through thorough requirements analyses and my understanding of enterprise needs, I developed customized solutions that were both technically robust and scalable. My work encompassed the complete lifecycle support of Atlassian systems in highly available environments: from initial deployment through updates and maintenance to troubleshooting under SLA conditions. As a technical consultant, I worked closely with clients to optimize their IT system architecture and implement best practices. My second-level support was particularly appreciated by clients for fast and competent problem-solving in critical situations. This position was my masterclass in scaling and technical sophistication. I learned to plan not just for 50 users, but for 5,000+. Not just to perform standard migrations, but to orchestrate zero-downtime transitions. This experience qualifies me today for the most demanding enterprise projects. Main Responsibilities: Deployment, updates, and maintenance of Atlassian customer environments Requirements analysis and planning of migration projects Execution of Server/Data Center to Cloud migrations Technical consulting and architecture design Error analysis, troubleshooting, and 2nd-level support Implementation of IT systems according to best practices

Atlassian Consultant
STAGIL GmbH. Wiesbaden, Germany (Remote in Dresden)

Atlassian Consultant

After five years as a system engineer at T-Systems MMS, I sought a new challenge that would combine my technical expertise with consulting competence. At STAGIL GmbH, I specialized in the Atlassian ecosystem and evolved from an implementer to a consultant who advises clients not only technically but also strategically. During my almost three years at STAGIL, I guided numerous complex Atlassian projects from conception to successful implementation. Particularly challenging and educational were the cloud migration projects, where I supported clients in transitioning their existing server and data center installations to the Atlassian cloud. These projects required not only deep technical understanding but also the ability to accompany change management processes and guide stakeholders through transformations. A central aspect of my work was the continuous support of Atlassian customer environments. I was responsible for deployments, updates, maintenance, as well as planning and implementing system changes. Through proactive monitoring and preventive measures, I continuously improved the availability and performance of the supported systems. This phase was my school of customer consulting: Here I learned to present technical solutions so that decision-makers immediately recognize the added value. As a technical consultant, I developed customized solutions for clients’ specific challenges. My strength lay in analyzing complex technical requirements and translating them into practical solution architectures. Second-level support rounded out my task spectrum and provided me with deep insights into various technology stacks. This position was my springboard from pure system engineer to business consultant. I learned not just to build systems, but to understand business processes and align IT solutions with them. This ability shapes my work to this day. Focus Areas: Atlassian System Administration (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) Cloud Migration and Transformation Projects Requirements Analysis and Solution Architecture Change Management and Customer Consulting Proactive System Maintenance and Performance Optimization Technical Support and Troubleshooting
