System Engineer

At T-Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH, I was able to gain solid experience in system engineering over five years and develop into a versatile IT expert. This formative period laid the foundation for my later specialization and my career path as an IT consultant.

In this position, I was significantly involved in building and operating web application servers that provided highly available eCommerce solutions for renowned clients. My responsibility encompassed the complete lifecycle management of these systems: from initial provisioning through monitoring to continuous optimization.

A particular highlight was my work in project business, where I actively contributed to the development and implementation of eCommerce platforms and DevOps tools. Here I was able to live out my passion for automation by developing Puppet modules for configuring Linux servers. These automation solutions significantly increased efficiency and reduced manual error sources.

As a System Engineer, I was confronted with diverse challenges daily: from administering complex Linux environments and web applications to providing direct IT support for internal and external stakeholders. This broad positioning enabled me to develop a deep understanding of the various levels of IT infrastructure.

Working in the helpdesk sharpened my problem-solving skills and communication competencies. I learned to work in a structured manner even under time pressure and to communicate complex technical issues in an understandable way. These skills have been invaluable in my further career.
